Kiltarlity
Church
The
TCC group at Kiltarlity Church will be regularly participating in the
morning worship service, as they dramatise the passages of Scripture
which are being dealt with in the sermon. This allows the children
to also keep in step with what we are doing in the worship
service. The young people are enthusiastic about this thespian
venture, and will begin right after the October break.
Sunday
School (ages 3 - 10)
Sunday School currently has 11 children on its roll comprising boys and
girls between the ages of 3 and 10. There are 2 teachers: Mrs Maggie
Third and Mrs Linda MacKenzie.
The
Sunday School joins the congregation in church at 12 noon and following
the minister’s address and children’s hymn they and
their
teachers disperse to the church upper hall for their own activities.
Through the use of a variety of teaching resources the children enjoy
learning about Jesus.
They participate in 4 family services during the year i.e. Easter, end
of summer term, Harvest Thanksgiving and Christmas.
T.C.C. (ages 11+)
The initial letters stand for Tomnacross Church Club. The group was
formed 12 years ago, to provide a Christian focus for young people aged
11
(primary 7) and upwards. There is no upper age limit. The group meets
weekly in the vestry during the morning service at Kiltarlity Church of
Scotland.
The group, when formed, agreed upon "Aims and Objectives", these being:
- to be active, have fun and learn more about
Christianity
- to provide a secure, friendly and active
environment for the young people of the Church
- to encourage others to share a growing
understanding of, and enthusiasm for Christianity.
In the words of our members, this has been, and continues to be
achieved :
"T.C.C. is for young adults aged 11 - (presently)17. T.C.C. members
achieve much, meeting regularly to learn more of Jesus Christ and His
ministry,
actively participating in Family Services 4 times annually, producing
materials to attract church members, going on exciting trips! Every
year the group go to Teen Ranch near Dundee, and to Abernethy Outdoor
centre. Both are Christian based outdoor activity centres where
participants enjoy a wide range of activities to suit all. New friends
are made, both by young people and adults alike. All staff are
Christians and at each "camp" group members enjoy and enthusiastically
participate in "Time Out", time allocated for worship and praise. All
who join T.C.C. can be assured of a very warm welcome and an exciting
time from within the church.

Kirkhill
Church
Sunday School
"Whoever
welcomes a little child in my name welcomes
me" Matthew
18:5
Kirkhill
Sunday School is
growing and thriving, thanks to the enthusiasm of parents and the
commitment of
the church membership to prayer and encouragement.
At present (March 2008), there are 23 children on the roll, including 3
in S1.
After 10 - 15 minutes in Church, we leave to have a short time of
singing together. We then split up into age groups for
lessons
and other activities.
We meet every Sunday during the school term from 10.30 to
11.30am. There are 4 family services during the year, with
the
children taking part in reading, singing and drama.
There are 3 teachers and a rota for other much needed help.
We
have found a lot of enthusiasm from parents and other church members to
help in this vital work with the young.

Guild
The Guild meets over the winter months (October to March), on the first
Tuesday of the month from 2.30 - 4.00pm.
The membership has been growing over the winter which has been very
encouraging. Though we always meet at Kirkhill, we invite
friends
from Kiltarlity to join us when they can.
We have three or four meetings with guest speakers, and for the other
two or three, our own members arrange studies and
discussions.
We organised a World Day of Prayer Service again this year, after a few
years without one. This was well attended by both men and
women
from Kirkhill and Kiltarlity.
