Preaching by Sole
Nominee - Sun
4th
After three years of vacancy, the Nominating Committee has heard and
interviewed Rev. Dr Kobus Smit, who has shown an interest in
our
linked charge. We have unanimously agreed to invite Kobus as sole
nominee to preach at Kirkhill and Kiltarlity Churches
on 4th July. Immediately after service on 4th of
July, church
members and adherents registered on the church’s Electoral
Roll
will be invited to use voting papers to vote for or against electing
and appointing Kobus as minister of our vacant charge.
Afternoon
Tea at
the Dairy, Daviot
The Kirkhill Guild are hosting an outing to the Dairy at Daviot on
Tuesday 6 July, for afternoon tea at 2.30 pm. The
Dairy Coffee Shop is
situated in a converted 19th century farm on a private estate. A
booking has been made for the old wheelhouse section of the coffee
shop, which looks out onto the surrounding countryside. Afternoon tea
is priced at £6.95. Transport to/from
Kirkhill and Kiltarlity
will be by means of car sharing.
This outing is open to all from Kirkhill and Kiltarlity churches
– you do not have to be a Guild member or attendee
– you will be very welcome, both ladies and gentlemen!

Kirkhill
Children's Summer Holiday Club News
The Kirkhill
based club is planned for Monday
26 July 2010 to Friday
30 July 2010 inclusive, and will be based at the Kirkhill Community
Centre from 10 am to 12:30 pm. The theme will be SHOWSTOPPERS and
the leaders will be Alasdair and Eileen Morrison, and Chris Watt, who
brought his excellent puppet show to the Wardlaw Church as part of the
30 May service. The cost will be £5 for the whole week, or
£2 per day.

All children from any community are most welcome to join in the fun at
both the FUN DAY at Beaufort Castle
in August and the Kirkhill Summer
Holiday Club in July.

Kiltarlity Church is organising a 'Fun Day' at Beaufort Castle
on Wednesday 11 August 2010 with Heidi Hercus (nee
Jones) as their leader. The theme will
be an 'Olympics'-style theme of
"Running a race for God", with lots of fun, games, and activities.

Children from both Churches are most welcome to join in
the fun.
Garden
Party at Eileanreach House - Sat 14th
Iain and Avril Marr have kindly offered to open their garden and
grounds onthe afternoon of Saturday 14 August. The plans include stalls
for home
baking, plants, and books, guess the weight of the Fruit Cake, name the
Rag
Doll….and more! Teas and
home baking will be available to enjoy on the
terrace. Entrance will be by donation, with funds going to the Wardlaw
Church Development Fund.

Celebration Party for Willis and Pat - Sat 28th at
Brockie's Lodge
To celebrate Willis and Pat’s time with the Special K’s, a
buffet evening will be held at Brockie's Lodge, commencing at 7 pm. The
buffet will be themed
around Willis’s favourite food, and the evening will include a
presentation to
Willis and Pat. Representatives from both Kiltarlity and Kirkhill will
be
planning the evening’s events.
Details regarding how to book a place for this evening will be
publicised on Sunday 18 July 2010.

Evening
Prayer Meetings
We continue to be very encouraged by the response to the fortnightly
Evening Prayer meetings held in Wardlaw Church. The short service
begins at 7 pm and finishes by 7:30 pm. Prayers are both free and
fixed. Pray for individuals and their needs, the church, world issues,
and whatever is on the minds and hearts of those present.
You are most welcome to join us for this time of prayer.
Please note that the prayer meetings normally held at the Dobson home
will not
be held in July 2010 due to family holiday commitments.
Kiltarlity Kids'
Klub - every Wed 3pm - 4pm
Amanda Campbell is orchestrating the inauguration of "The
Kids’ Klub. On each Wednesday after school, beginning on 24
February 2010. The Kids Klub will meet at Kiltarlity Church from 3 pm
to 4 pm. Each child brings £1 and there will be games,
refreshments, crafts, and stories provided for the children. Amanda is
assisted by an able team of associates: Ellenor Thomas, Gena MacLean,
Cathy Fraser and some mothers of the involved children
have agreed to
help launch this new initiative.
